I played around with Kahoot in class which is a game for teachers to use to help the students review for test, quizes, or just to get a sense of what the students know about certain things. I chose this website because I want to be a high school history teacher and I feel like this website would be a great tool for me to get know if the students are understanding the material or to see what they know about a subject before I talk about it. (EX: play kahoot with students before teaching a lesson to see what knowledge they have already). I have personal experience using this website being a player and creating my own having other people answering questions I created. From me being a player to seeing others play something I created, I chose being the host of the game and watching others have fun and seeing their expressions when they get something right or when they get something wrong.
I looked at reviews from the website commonsense.org and found out that kahoot is liked by teachers who want to quiz and challenge their students in a fun way getting 4 out of 5 stars with teachers saying that it is a great tool for assessments and review. But there are some things that should be aware of for privacy of using this website. It does not have a privacy setting where you could make only certain people could look at your account. The website is free to play but if students want to create their own account to create or share I would advise conversing with the parents first.
I also found that I could find different games that are made by others with accounts. I could filter a search by subject (math, science, literature, history) and by grade level (1-12) and find different games created by teachers or students. Dr. J did say that they would be good using some of the games pre-made but it would best if I created my own game which is something I will be doing in 10 weeks especially if we will demo these in front of the class.
