For helping out students that are learning to speak English like our Spanish, Pashto and Persian speaking students we have translated our documents in their spoken language and give them an English version and their native language document. However the translation is not the best at they are translated through google translate but it gets us by. The group of students are some of our most determined group of students we have because they beat themselves up when they don’t get it in english and are really excited when they understand the assignment in English.
Here are two documents that Mr. Murtagh and myself translated through google translate. One representing Pashto and the other in Persian. We have one class that represents all 4 languages at once and it is very challenging but we manage to help out the students by using their native language on the documents so that can at least know what we are doing.
